Introduction - Why the WRFC Foundation Exists
- College support for the WRFC – both financial and otherwise – ebbs and flows. The financial needs of the team don’t.
- A permanent endowment provides a modicum of financial stability to the organization, while also establishing a permanent alumni board.
- Goal of $120,000
The WRFC’s Finances
- Fund incremental expenditures not covered by the College – additive, not substituting for existing funding sources.
- Economic diversity of the team continues to change, and not all members have the resources to support the team’s finances equally. Today about 51% of the incoming class is on financial aid and the WRFC is more representative of this figure than most other clubs.
- Huge budget gaps bridged through generous parents and ad hoc alumni donations.
Grant Allocations
- Equipment, medical supplies and training aids
- Coaching and training aids
- Game Day expenses such as transportation to/from, referee and tournament fees
- Subsidizing special travel opportunities, supplemental coaching or even scholarships
The Foundation cannot and will not be providing any funding for any social activity.
Ancillary Benefits
- Stability and recruiting
- Conduit of communication between current and alumni members
- Counterparty to College dealings with the Club and a focal point through which the College can constructively engage the WRFC student athletes (and vice versa)
